None of these processors list prices online; most quote a flat base rate plus extras for sausage, sticks and caping.
Lycoming County is in the PGC's Northcentral Region. Region at a glance: The Pennsylvania Wilds: big woods, State Game Lands and the elk range around Elk, Cameron and Clearfield counties. If every cooler here is full, neighboring Union, Sullivan, Clinton and Snyder counties have 9 listed processors between them. If you want your deer tested for CWD, ask the shop to save the head, or drop it at a free PGC head bin.

Drop-off checklist
- Tag it right away. Tag the deer immediately after harvest and before you move it. The tag goes on the ear and stays there until the deer is processed.
- Field dress and cool fast. Remove entrails, drain the cavity and get the deer cold. In warm weather, pack the cavity with bagged ice.
- High-risk parts go in the trash. New for 2026-27: you can move a deer anywhere, but once it leaves the kill site the head, backbone and spleen must go out with commercial trash. A processor handles that for you.
- Report within 10 days. Online, by phone at 1-800-838-4431, or with the digest report card.
Hunters Sharing the Harvest
Drop a legally harvested deer at a participating processor and the venison goes to Pennsylvania food banks. Program sponsors usually cover the processing; confirm with the shop.
