About Mease Meats, Inc.

For over a decade, Mease Meats Inc. has provided custom butchering for customers in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. Our customers are hunters, farmers, and, most importantly, our neighbors. For that reason, we individually-process all of our meat... It takes venison donations through hunters sharing the harvest; it is on the game commission's list of cwd cooperating processors approved for proper disposal of high-risk parts.

Mease Meats, Inc. holds a 4.8 Google rating from 47 reviews, a bit under the Schuylkill County average of 5.0. Advertised services include snack sticks, jerky, fresh sausage, caping for mounts and skinning. Posted hours cover 6 days a week; expect longer days around the rifle opener. It takes Hunters Sharing the Harvest donations and is a PGC CWD cooperator for fall archery, winter archery, regular firearms, after-christmas firearms. If the cooler is full, the closest alternatives are Brown's Deer Processing (3.5 mi) or Mease Meats Retail Store (6.2 mi). Call before you drop off a deer; intake rules and hours at Pine Grove shops change during the season.

Drop-off checklist

  • Tag it right away. Tag the deer immediately after harvest and before you move it. The tag goes on the ear and stays there until the deer is processed.
  • Field dress and cool fast. Remove entrails, drain the cavity and get the deer cold. In warm weather, pack the cavity with bagged ice.
  • High-risk parts go in the trash. New for 2026-27: you can move a deer anywhere, but once it leaves the kill site the head, backbone and spleen must go out with commercial trash. A processor handles that for you.
  • Report within 10 days. Online, by phone at 1-800-838-4431, or with the digest report card.
