About Naugles Deer Processing

Naugle’s Custom Butchering and Deer Processing Inc, opened in 1986, processing deer, beef, and pigs. Our meat processing is the best in the area! It takes venison donations through hunters sharing the harvest; it is on the game commission's list of cwd cooperating processors approved for proper disposal of high-risk parts.

Naugles Deer Processing holds a 4.8 Google rating from 64 reviews, above the Luzerne County average of 4.7. The shop lists snack sticks, fresh sausage, summer sausage, smoked products, venison hot dogs and 4 more. It takes Hunters Sharing the Harvest donations, is a PGC CWD cooperator for fall archery, winter archery, regular firearms, after-christmas firearms and offers after-hours drop-off. If the cooler is full, the closest alternatives are Wren's Taxidermy & Deer Processing (8.2 mi) or Wright's Cut-Up Deer Processing (11.4 mi). Call before you drop off a deer; intake rules and hours at Hunlock Creek shops change during the season.

Drop-off checklist

  • Tag it right away. Tag the deer immediately after harvest and before you move it. The tag goes on the ear and stays there until the deer is processed.
  • Field dress and cool fast. Remove entrails, drain the cavity and get the deer cold. In warm weather, pack the cavity with bagged ice.
  • High-risk parts go in the trash. New for 2026-27: you can move a deer anywhere, but once it leaves the kill site the head, backbone and spleen must go out with commercial trash. A processor handles that for you.
  • Report within 10 days. Online, by phone at 1-800-838-4431, or with the digest report card.
