Deer processing in Indiana County
Indiana County has 5 deer processors in this directory, spread across 5 towns: Armagh, Glen Campbell, Homer City, Indiana and Marion Center. Shops with Google reviews here average 4.3 stars, below the statewide 4.6. Cunningham Meats leads the ranking with a 4.6 average from 181 Google reviews.
To donate venison through Hunters Sharing the Harvest, use Fenton's Meats. None of these shops is on the PGC cooperating processor list. Under the 2026-27 CWD rules you don't need one, since any shop can take your deer as long as high-risk parts go out with the trash. That's 20% of local shops in HSH, against 36% statewide. No shop here advertises after-hours drop-off, so plan to arrive during business hours or keep the deer cold overnight.
The services listed most often here are snack sticks, bologna, jerky and fresh sausage. None of these listings mention bear or elk, so call first if you have one. Pricing isn't posted for these shops. Ask for the base rate, then skinning, caping and specialty product charges.
Indiana County is in the PGC's Southwest Region. Region at a glance: Laurel Highlands farm and ridge country surrounding Pittsburgh, west to the Ohio and West Virginia lines. If every cooler here is full, neighboring Armstrong, Cambria, Somerset and Jefferson counties have 15 listed processors between them. If you want your deer tested for CWD, ask the shop to save the head, or drop it at a free PGC head bin.

Drop-off checklist
- Tag it right away. Tag the deer immediately after harvest and before you move it. The tag goes on the ear and stays there until the deer is processed.
- Field dress and cool fast. Remove entrails, drain the cavity and get the deer cold. In warm weather, pack the cavity with bagged ice.
- High-risk parts go in the trash. New for 2026-27: you can move a deer anywhere, but once it leaves the kill site the head, backbone and spleen must go out with commercial trash. A processor handles that for you.
- Report within 10 days. Online, by phone at 1-800-838-4431, or with the digest report card.
