Shot a Deer at Last Light? 15 PA Processors Take After-Hours Drop-Offs
A deer shot at last light on opening day needs to get cold, and most processors are closed by then. 15 Pennsylvania processors advertise an after-hours drop-off: a walk-in cooler, a hanging area or a call-ahead arrangement. That's 5% of the state's 306 processors, in 13 counties.

Before you use one
- Call ahead. Terms differ: some shops want a phone call first, some want the deer tagged with your contact information left on a form, and some only offer drop-off during rifle season.
- Ask if there's a fee and how soon you need to call in your cut order.
- No shop near you on this list? Ask your usual processor. Plenty of shops take late deer informally and just don't advertise it.
- Can't drop it off tonight? Get the deer skinned or quartered and cold. Field care and processing guide.
